pleurapophysis (plural pleurapophses)

[Pref. pleur-, and Eng. apophysis.] Compar . Anat .: The projecting proce on each side of a vertebra. The ribs are of the nature of pleurapophyses. (Owen.) pleû-rěn-chy-mą, subst. [Pref. pleur-, and Gr. engchyma infusion.] Bot.: Meyer's name for the tube-like cells producing Woody Ti ue (q. v.). There are two kinds of pleurenchyma-the ordinary or typical, and the glandular.
