—As applied to insulation, rubber is used in many ways. In the form ofa thin plastic ma it may be laid over a wire and then vulcanized. It may be used as tape for direct insulation or for making joints. As vulcanite or ebonite it may be used as plates, tubes, rods, switch handles, ete.
