David Goodman, an American journalist; born in New York city Nov. 3, 1829; was educated at the University of New York; was reporter and editor on various New York papers. He foretold the financial — of 1873, naming the firm of Jay Cooke & Company as_the first to fail. He died in New York city April 29, 1889.
