BOCAS DEL TORO A town on the N. coast of the isthmus of Panama, belonging to Panama, and situated at one of the entrances to the lagoon of Chiriqui. Population, 3,000. Mi ion station of the UMFC (1865), with 1 mi ionary, 6 native workers, 3 chapels, 3 Sun: day schools, 3 village schools, and 300 profe ing Christians. Also station of the Jamaica Baptist Mi ionary Society (1894), with 1 mi ionary and his wife, 1 village school and 161 church members. 114
