A book in which all births, deaths, and marriages that occur in the parish are registered. They are in the charge of the incumbent. *par-ish-en, *par-is-schen, s. [O. Fr. parois sien , from Lat. par och i an us .] A parishioner (q.v.). "His parishens devoutly wolde he tec he." Chaucer: C. Т., 484. *păr-Ish-Ing, s. [Eng. parish ; -ing .] A hamlet or small village adjoining and belonging to a parish. ( Hall i well .)
