calamanco (kalamangko)

It is very suitable wood for ornamental cabinet-work, showing alternate bands of brown and black, is very hard, and takes a high polish. calamar (kal'a-mär), n. Same as calamary. Calamari a (kal-a-ma'ri-a), n. [NL. Cf. calamary.] 1. The typical genus of serpents of the family Calamariidæ, having the labial plates reduced to four or five, and containing species peculiar to the East Indies. C. alb i venter is an example.-2.
