In Geography, is the term us''d to indicate the extreme point of a promontory, or of that portion of land which juts out into the sea beyond the general line of the coast; as Cape Taenarus or Matapan, the most southern part of Europe; the Cape of Good Hope, the most southern part of Africa; Cape Horn, the southern extremity of America, ice.
