Plural of fleur - de - lis. fleur-volant (F. pron. fler-vo-lon'), n.; pl. fleurs - volants (fler-vo-lon'). [F.: fleur, flower; volant, flying: see flower and volant.] In lace making, a part of a pattern in some varieties of lace which is in high relief. The different kinds of fleurs-volants are known as couronnes, loops, knots, and spines. See these words. fleury (flö'ri), a.
