[Named after G. L. Kæler, Pro fe or of Natural History at Mayence and a writer on gra es.] Bot.: A cosmopolitan genus of gra es, tribe Festucese. The panicle is contracted, spike-like, the spikelets compre ed. Known species eight. Kæleria cristata is quite well known. It has a silvery panicle, interrupted below, is one to three feet high, and is found on banks and in pastures. kœn'-Ig-Ine, kœn'-Ig-ite, s. [Named by Levy after C. Kœnig; suff. -ine , -ite ( Min .).) Min.: A variety of Brochan tite (q. v.), from Gumeschevsk, Perm, Ru ia. kœn'-Ig-ite, 8. [KOENIGINE.]
