(kal'en-dr.) [From L. caleo, I am warm.] (Manf.) A machine used in manufactories to pre textile stuffs, silks, linens, ., to give them a fine glo and wavy appearance. It consists of two thick rollers or cylinders, revolving so nearly in contact with each other that cloth pa ed through between them is not only smoothed, but glazed by their powerful pre ure. [s. 130]
