flap, n. Anything broad and limber that hangs loose, or attached by one side or end and easily moved; the motion 'of such an object, or a stroke with it, or the noise made by a stroke. {Sur-g.) piece of skin and flesh left attached to the stump amputation, made to cover the end of the bone. {Far.)
