Saturation

The complete satisfaction or neutralization of valency in any molecule, so that further combination can occur only by increasing the valency of some atoms, or releasing some atom or molecule from the compound. Thus, carbon, is saturated with 4 monad or 2 dyad H as H-C-H, or O C O. S. of the H phere, that condition in which any reduction of temperature will be followed by a precipitation of the aqur ous vapor mingled with the atmosphere.
