t. [HAMSHACKET.] ( Scotch.) ăm-sō-ni-a, s. [Named from Charles Amson, a scientific traveller in America.] Bot . A genus of plants belonging to the order Apocynaceæ, or Dogbanes. The species are pretty, and are easily propagated. They were introduced from North America. *ămt, s. [ANT.]
