(strap). 1. A band or slip, as of adhesive plaster, used in attaching parts to each other. 2. To bind down tightly. crib s., a strap to be placed around the neck of a horse to prevent cribbing by compre ing the windpipe. Wyman’s Β᾽ Β, a set of straps for keeping a violently insane person in bed.
