Fennec

(fěnnék.) (Zool.) The common name of the genus Mega lot is, fam. Canida. The species, which are small and beautiful, are peculiar to Africa. They resemble foxes in general form and in their bushy tail, but have eyes adapted for diurnal and not for nocturnal vision, and remarkably large ears. [s. 360]
