Sciatic

(ski-at'ilk.) [FromGr. ischian, the hip-joint.] (Anat.) Designating that which pertains to, or is intluenced by, the hip; as, the S. artery, a branch of the interior trunk of the internal iliac. The S. nerve is a branch of a nerve of the lower extremity, formed by the jnnction of the lumbar and sacral nerves. [s. 804]
