Here, too, describes the dream of Jacob in P. L. 3. 510-515. Jeroboam set up a golden calf which Israel worshipped, (i Kings 12. 28-9.) Amaziah, the sycophantish priest, belonged called Luz. to the shrine at Bethel. 68
