An old established corporation constituted by Authority, consisting of a Master and Brethren as Governors, with Secretaries and staff, to conduct the busine of the various departments, such as the maintenance and efficiently manning of all Light-houses and Lightships, on and near the Coast and Islands of Great Britain; also the sounding and buoying of channels and giving timely notice of any changes of position for the information of Master Mariners. The examination and licensing of Pilots for certain districts, etc.
