A convulsive action of the respiratory organs, brought on by irritation of the nostrils. Violent fits of sneezing have occasionally attacked persons, and 112.5 SNOW. are even said to have proved fatal; recourse must in such cases be had to soothing the nasal membrane by the application of warm milk and water, or decoction of poppies.
