Tsenia, an intestinal parasite, consisting of a head, or scolex, by which the worm is attached to the wall of the intestine, and several, usually a large number of, segments (proglottides) containing the reproductive organs. The ovum, entering the intestine of man or one of the lower animals is there hatched and the embryo, carried to the ti ues by the blood stream, develops into an hydatid or cysticercus.
