a person deputed by a Government to negotiate a treaty, or transact other busine , with a foreign Government. We usually apply the word to a public minister sent for one particular purpose; hence an envoy 18 distinguished from an amba ador, and is of inferior rank. ENZYMES. It is one of a number of words, the first part of Eos; godde of the dawn which is eo (a form of the Greek éés, dawn) used chiefly in palaeontology, in the sense of first beginnings.
