Induration

(in-du-ra’ ’shun) [in, into; durus, hard]. Hardening; the state of being or becoming hard; a hardened ma or lump. I., Brown, a form of interstitial pneumonia in which there is, in addition to the new growth of fibrous ti ue, a deposit of altered blood pigment. I., Gray, a similar condition without the deposit of pigment. I., Red, an interstitial pneumonia in which the lung is red from congestion. 332
