Definite integrals are those in which (1) the inferior limit of the variable is fixed, or (2) both limits are a igned. In the definite integral the con- stant is determined for the limits a igned. The effort to integrate complicated differential functions, especially by means of series, has produced special forms which are grouped under distinctive names and treated as subjects of separate discu ion.
