Robert Philippe Louis Eugene Ferdinand D’Orleans (Duc de) grandson of Louis Philippe, King of the French, was born in Paris, Nov. 9, 1840. When only two years old he lost his father, and six years later the Revolution drove him, along with his family,into exile. He joined the Union army in the first campaign of the American Civil War in 1862. Died in 1910.
