The vulgar name of the Inula HeUnium. It is an aromatic bitter, and was formerly regarded as expectorant; whence the monkish lifte, Enula campana redilit pracordia san a A coarse candy, composed of little else than coloured sugar, is sold under the name of elecampane. [s. 403]
