Council has lost all its old political importance, mainly owing to the development of Party Government, but it still retains administrative and judicial functions. -It is the final Court of Appeal from India, the Colonies, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man and it has committees such as the Board of Trade,; the Local Government Board, the Council for Education, etc.
