WENZEL NEPOMUK LOTHAR, PRINCE VON, DUKE OF PONTELLA, 1773-1859. Austrian diplomatist and statesman; Envoy Envoy to Sax Saxony 1801, 1801, to Ru ia 1803, to France 1806; Foreign Minister 1809; negotiator of several important treaties, and of Napoleon's second marriage; founder of the Triple Alliance 1813; Pres. Congre of Vienna 1814; Chancellor 1821-48; long chief director of European affairs.
