WHISKEY

(A corruption of the Gaelic word usquebaugh.) A species of corn spirit. S^<? Distillation. WHf'SPERING DOMES, or GALLERIES, are places in which whispers or feeble sounds are communicated to a greater distance than under any ordinary circumstances. In order to produce this effect, the form of the roof or walls of the building must be such that sound proceeding from one part is transmitted by reflection or repeated reflections to another.
