Susan Webb ( dau. of Elkanah Cushman of Boston, U.S. merchant ). b. Boston 17 March 1822; made her début 8 June 1839 at Park theatre, New York as Laura Castelli in Epes Sargent’s play The Genoese ; made a remarkable succe in Satan in Paris ; came to England 1846; played Ophelia and Juliet (200 nights) at Hay market theatre, London with great succe 1846; retired from the stage 1847.
