Clot

(klot). A coagulum, especially that of blood; a cra amentum. See Thrombus, Embolism. White clots are formed of the pure fibrin of white corpuscles and of blood-plaques. If the white clot has become slightly stained with red blood cells, it becomes yellowish (chicken-fat clot); if it be red and soft, it is a currant-jelly clot. Stratified clots contain layers of more than one variety. C, Distal, a clot formed in a ve el beyond the seat of ligature. C. -districts, the small divisions into which a clot is broken by the di emination through it of the fibroblastic plasma-corpuscles. C, Proximal, the clot formed in a ve el above the seat of ligature.
