swiit, a. Moving with celerity or velocity ready; prompt; coming without delay; quick; ble; rapid; expeditious. — n. A reel, for winding yarn, thread, etc.,— chiefly in pi. (Ornith.) insectivorous bird, of several species, like the low, but having a shorter bill, longer sickle-shaped wings, and bolder and more rapid flight: the swift is popularly called " chimney swallow." (Zo'61.) The common newt or eft; a species of Swig, swig, v. t. & i. To drink by large draughts.— A large draught.
