omophagia (omofajia)

[NL., especially raw flesh. omophagic (ō-mō-faj'i -ic.] Of or pertaining to omophagia; practis (ō-mō-faj'ik), a. [ omophagia + ing omophagia. omophagous (ō-mof'a-gus), a. [ -ous.] Omophagic. omophagus (ō-mof' f'a-gus), n. [NL., ὠμός , raw, + φαγεῖν , eat.] One who eats raw food. omophorion (ō-mo-fo'ri-on), n.; pl. omophoria (-). [ ML.omophorium ; ὠμοφόριον (see def.), bear1.] In the Gr. Ch., a vestment correspond ing to the Latin pallium, but broader, and tied about the neck in a knot. It is worn above the phenol i on by bishops and patriarchs during the celebra tion of the liturgy or eucharist. See palll and mafors.
