(am'ah-doo,) or GERMAN TINDER, a kind of tinder, chiefly made from the fungus Polyparia foment aria, which is found on old oaks and ash-trees, and is boiled in water, dried, beaten, soaked in a solution of nitre, and again dried for use. [s. 24]
