Bot .: A popular name given to club-shaped fungi of the genus Geoglo um, of which word it is a lit eral translation. They are found on lawns and gra y pastures. earth-wolf, s. Zool .: The same as AARD-WOLF (q. v.). earth's crust, s. [CRUST.] earth, v. t. & i. [EARTH, 8.] A. Transitive: 1. To cover with earth. (Generally followed by up.)
