Osmic Acid. —Yellowish needles; very pungent, disagreeable odor.— Sol. in water, alcohol, ether.—Anti neuralgic, Discutient, Antiepileptic.— Uses: Intern. , muscular rheumatism, neuralgia; extern. , remove tumors, and in sciatica (by injection).— Dose: 1/64 grn., several t. daily.— Injection: 1/20 — 1/6 grn. as 1% solut. in aqueous glycerin (40%)— Antidote: Sulphuretted hydrogen.— Incompatibles: Organic substances, phosphorus, ferrous sulphate, etc.— Caution: Vapor exceedingly irritating to the air-pa ages.
