Cybele (sibele)

In cla ical myth., an earth-godde , of Phrygian and Cretan origin, but identified by the Greeks with Rhea, daughter of Uranus and Ge, or Heaven and Cybele and Attis.- Roman relief, 3d century A. D. Earth, wife of Cronus or Saturn, and mother of Zeus or Jupiter-hence called the Mother of the Gods, or the Great Mother.
