[s. 154] : One of the Cayman Islands, off the N.W. coast of Jamaica, W. I. It has a large export trade in coconuts. Station of the Jamaica Baptist Mi ionary Society (1887), with 1 mi ionary and his wife, 5 places of regular worship, a Young People’s Society, and 170 baptized Christians. CEBU A: town on the island of the same name in the Philippine Islands, situated on the east coast, and having considerable commercial importance, being rated as the third port of the Philippines and a center of the hemp trade. It is well situated and destined to grow in the future. Population, 11,000. The people are of the Visayan stock and use a dialect peculiar to Cebu and Bohol.
