[stirred (sterd), -king.] To change place of in any manner; to agitate; to cause the particles (of a liquid, etc.) to change place (by motion of something pa ing through); to bring into debate, agitate; to incite to action, instigate, prompt; move, rouse, animate, stimulate, excite, provoke.— i. To move one's self, change one's position; to be motion, be active; to become the object of notice conversation; to rise in the morning. — n.
