[SYNARTHROSIS.] or pertaining to, or in the nature of synarthrosis. syn-ar-thrō-sis, s. [Gr., from syn together, and arthroo =to articulate; arthron a joint.] Anat.: The union of bones without motion; close union, as in sutures, symphysis, and the like. "There is a conspicuous motion where the conjunction is called diarthrosis, as in the elbow; an obscure one, where the conjunction is called synarthrosis, as in the joining of the carpus to the metacarpus."-Wiseman: Sur gery. synastry *syn-ăst-rỹ, s.
