Charge

(1) Obligation put upon property or a person, as by a testator upon land which he wills, or upon a devisee. (2) Accusation of wrong-doing: in some jurisdictions confined to a formal, legal accusation by complaint, or indictment. (3) Instructions by a judge to a jury as to the rules of law which should govern them in deciding a case.
