Robert Kennon, an American clergyman; born in Pickens co., Ala., Sept. 17, 1829; ordained in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South; and held pastorates in Alabama; and was made bishop in 1882. He had been secretary of the College of Bishops since 1884, and president of the board of trustees of Vanderbilt University since 1889. Died in 1905.
