navy agent (navia"jent)

A disbursing agent of the United States navy. Agents of this cla were formerly stationed at every large seaport. The office no longer exists, all disbursements being now made by naval paymasters. navy-bill (nā'vi-bil), n. 1. A bill drawn by an officer of the British navy for his pay, etc.- 2. An official list, published semi-annually, of the officers of the United States navy, their stations, rates of pay, etc., with a list of the ships.
