MYTHOLOGY

The cla ical mythology, i. e. that of ancient Greece and Rome, being the best known, is most frequently intended, when the word is used without a distinctive addition; but the mythologies of the ancient Egyptians, of the Ilindoos, and of the northern nations of Europe, have also been sedulously examined by modern scholars, and reduced into systems pretty generally known.
