Epizooty

(ep-c-zō'o-te.) [Same der iv.] (Far.) A gene rio term for such pestilent diseases among the brute creation as resemble epidemics in their character; as, for instance, influenza in horses, tri chinæ in hogs, and the plague in cattle. [s. 336]
