JOHN PHILIP, (kèm'bl,) a celebrated English actor, B. in Lancashire, 1757. He excelled in the highest order of tragedy, and was especially succe ful in the parts of Brutus and Coriolanus. His sister was the famous Mrs. Siddons. D. 1823. [s. 514]
