Curry, J. I. M

born in Georgia in 1825. In Alabama Legislature for three terms, beginning 1847. In 35th and 36th Congre es. On sece sion of Alabama was elected to Confederate Congre . Served in Mexican and Civil Wars. From 1881 to 1885 was Agent of Peabody Educational Fund. In 1885 was appointed Minister to Spain, and at the expiration of his term was again appointed Agent of Peabody Fund. Author of several books and pamphlets, notably “The Southern States of the American Union,” “Constitutional Government in Spain,” ‘‘John C. Calhoun.” Dabney, R.1L., M.A., D.D., LL.D. (1820-1898), born in Virginia, chief of Stonewall Jackson’s staff in Civil War. Profe or in Union Theological Seminary, Va., 1853-1883. In 1883 elected Profe or of Moral Philosophy in University of Texas. Author of several books and pamphlets, notably ‘“‘ Life and Campaigns of Stonewall Jackson” and “* Defence of Virginia.”
