Vent-cover

A strip of bridle leather, used to strap over and protect the vent of a piece; a pin of copper or bra , fastened by rivets usually enters the vent, to prevent the cover from slipping. It is fastened to the piece by a buckle and strap, the latter pa ing around the breech.
