A vinous liquid, obtained in Tartary by fermenting the whey of mares' milk. KOUPHOLITE. {Gr.xovt^H, light,SLnd?„do;,astone.) A species of zeolite or prehnite from the Pyrenees: it occurs in small rhomboidal plates, of a pearly lustre, and of a yellowish or green colour. [s. 643]
