In conveyances, a term which provides that an estate shall commence, be enlarged, or be defeated upon a prescribed occurrence. In contracts, a statement or promise which is an e ential term of the contract and whose breach entitles the party in whose favor it exists to a discharge. It may be precedent, concurrent, or subsequent.
