(kast'ing.) [From cast.] (Metal. and Sculp.) The proce of pouring a metal, or some other substance, in a fluid or semi-fluid state, into a mould, which is made in various ways, and of substances best suited for the material which is to be poured into it. See FOUNDING. Cast-iron. See IRON. [s. 152]
